I have designed several different covers over the years, a part of my job that I really enjoy as an avid reader and lover of all things paper. In addition to cover design, I enjoy the challenge of long document production and the ability to use some of the expert-level tools in Adobe InDesign to automate and speed up production. I believe strongly in flexible and smart templates and consider myself an InDesign power-user, taking advantage of features such as text variables, GREP styles and scripts to streamline the layout process.
I also participated in and designed a book cover for the Creative Action Network's Recovering the Classics initiative — a crowdsourced project to bring well-designed covers to classic e-books, now in the public domain, that were suffering from poor design choices. I designed my cover for Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson.
